Hi, I'm Kayla

MY PASSION IS BUILDING STRONG MARRIAGES FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.

I coach married Jewish women to create a foundation of confidence, love, and connection. I’d love to get to know you. Here’s a little bit about me...

I’m honored to get to do this work in many ways, with one-on-one clients, private group coaching programs, and my podcast How to Glow (formerly First Year Married).

Having worked with groups in mentoring and educational settings since 2007 and receiving certification in Life Coaching from The Refuah Institute in 2014, I have been working one-on-one and in small groups with women of a variety of ages. In 2016 I attended an advanced skills workshop with Brooke Castillo of the Life Coach School, then certified as a Life Coach School coach in 2021, which serves as the basis of my coaching today.

As a marriage coach, I am strongly influenced by the work of Alison Armstrong, Dr. Pat Love, Dr. Leonard Sax, Dr. Louann Brizendine, and Esther Perel.

I am also fascinated by religious traditions around marriage and pull from my own traditions as an observant Jewish woman. The concept of the First Year Married was inspired by a tradition called “shana rishona” in which the first year is marked and protected as a building period for a new marriage.

In today’s world where we focus so much attention on the engagement and wedding and very little resources are available for achieving success in marriage, I am especially inspired by my clients who are determined to find better solutions and deeper understandings to help them have a connected and inspirational marriage.

WHAT I DO WITH MY CLIENTS…

I started with an online course, First Year Married Online, to focus specifically on women whose parents were divorced. I was seeing strong feelings of anxiety and concern from these women and sought to give them a program that would show them that marriage is “figure-out-able.” It’s not a scary hit-or-miss and your parents’ marriage does not need to be a determining factor of your own marriage’s health. The program opened up when several women approached me with very similar feelings despite not “fitting in” to the divorced-parent niche.

Having begun my podcast in 2018 and to date have coached hundreds of women from 1:1 to groups and classes, I have begun to hear even more from married women and have gained additional insights into the first years of marriage–and many years beyond.

I now work with married Jewish women in my group coaching program, How to Glow. You can try it for a month, a year, or hang out as long as you like! You can learn more about coaching here.
