Ep 173 - Live Coaching Session

Last week we published an episode of me coaching one of my long-time clients on her goal of setting up a solid evening routine.


Spoiler alert: trying to use self-control and determination weren't working.


Why do we DO this? And I say this as someone who does this myself!


We want something so badly, so we go into bulldozer energy. This WILL happen, this WILL get done, I WILL do it this way from now on!


In the meantime, there's another part of us, very quietly trying to be heard saying, "hey, I'm not really on board, here."

"I don't have time to prep my food so how can I change my eating habits overnight?" "I've consistently woken up late so I'm not really sure how to change that!" "I don't snap at my kids for fun--I do it when I'm OVERWHELMED! How am I just going to stop?!"


That voice is critical. That voice is there to tell you what work needs to get done for you to achieve that goal.


So your challenge, should you choose to accept it (in a non-determined, self-control-ly way) is to hand the microphone over to that voice. Whatever the goal is you have, let that part of you tell you what still needs to be worked out for you to get what you need. You've got everything you need as soon as you stop to listen.
