Hello my friends, today we're going to be talking really quick about the Shana Rizona Challenge and why you should do it even if you're not still in Shana Rizona.
Welcome to How to Glow, where we get real about building the marriage of your dreams.
0:17
I'm certified coach Kayla Levin and I help married Jewish women go from surviving and overwhelmed to thriving and connected through practical tips, real life inspiration, and more than a little self-awareness along the way.
OK, so here's what happened.
0:33
I had two crazy days where I was going from one family need to another family need.
And I finally just said, honey myself care right now is to sit down and to just finally put the finishing touches on my first year married course.
0:49
I've been pushing it off and just not being able to get to it.
And I was like, you know what, I just could you just put the kids to bed and I'm just going to work and work and work until it's done.
And I did.
And I am just like on a high right now.
So I had this idea I felt like I wanted to kind of celebrate with everybody that what I should do is to do an 8 day Shalom for Shalom challenge, right?
1:11
I did the Shalom for Shalom challenges originally.
It's this 30 day challenge that I did.
You can still access it through e-mail on my website, kayla11.com.
And it was really just a challenge that I was inspired with, you know, everything going on in the world to just have us focus on creating Shalom inside of our homes because we know that these, you know, seemingly small sacrifices, but honestly, they require quite a lot from us sometimes to pursue Shalom inside of our homes have massive ripple effects in the world.
1:42
So that's been sitting there and I haven't really been doing anything with it because I didn't really want to run the whole challenge again.
And I just kind of like put it to the side and was busy with a lot of other things.
But this felt like a perfect time to dive back into another Shalom challenge.
I feel like it's a fun way for us to just, again, like I always loved the idea of putting our marriages back on the front burner.
2:02
And so this is inspired by the first year married course.
So it's going to be an 8 day challenge and each day's challenge is going to correspond to one of the weeks of the course.
So right, it's a, it's an 8 week course.
There's tons of material inside of it.
2:17
It's really like the best of the best of all of my marriage stuff.
And it's geared towards people in Shawna Michonno.
But it's something that I've been hearing a lot lately and also been telling some people lately is that just because you went through a year of marriage doesn't mean you had Shana Rishona.
2:32
In fact, you want to make sure you really got what you needed from Shana Rishona.
And those of you have been married much longer and maybe you totally got what you needed and you've got this nice, solid, yummy foundation.
We can all benefit from some newlywed energy from time to time.
And so we're going to take these eight days, whether you're a newlywed or not, although I'm speaking mostly to you newlyweds because you're my girls and we're going to do these challenges.
2:57
And so it's going out on WhatsApp, but I thought, why not send it out here to the podcast as well.
So I will just be really just reading off the challenges and I really, really want to encourage you not to just listen to them.
They're all bite size.
It's all just one thing that you can take.
3:14
OK, so let's get started.
Day one is called.
What's your story?
We're starting here with some real classic life coaching because that's where the course starts.
So here's your challenge for today.
Just notice if there was a recorder in your brain.
3:32
I know, EW, but go with me here.
What would you hear on the playback specifically about your husband and about your marriage?
Most of the women I work with tell me they are married to good men and they know it, but that doesn't mean that's what they're thinking all day long.
3:49
We have something called negativity bias, which means that our brains are more likely to notice the bad than the good.
So no judgement necessary here, Just take today to notice.
What stories are you telling yourself?
What issues are you chewing over and over in your mind?
4:06
Also, what awesome and lovely thoughts do you have?
What's happening when you aren't trying to change anything yet?
By the way, for those of you who are already nervous, I will never tell you that your thoughts are wrong or you should just change them.
4:22
A healthy marriage isn't about making either of you wrong.
OK, my friend.
So that is your challenge for day one.
And by the way, if you do know a newlywed and you think that she would love the course, it is now pay what you can, which means you basically can pay from 180 shekel to.
4:39
I mean, the course is meant to be $180.
You're certainly welcome to pay me more than that if you would like to.
But the course is $50 is the minimum payment, which I really hope means anybody should be able to do that without any major financial pressure.
I really am requesting people not to spend more than they feel they can manage comfortably and, you know, feel safe.
4:59
I don't want anyone stressing out so much because they paid so much for the course that now they can't even focus on the material.
OK, so that's just a long way of saying kayla11.com/newlywed to see all the amazing stuff inside the course and I will see you back here tomorrow for day two of the Shana Rishona Challenge.
5:16
Bye.
